Over my ten years of advising and college programming, I’ve worked with dozens of student leaders in producing hundreds of events to 40,000+ annual attendees. I’ve stewarded event budgets in excess of $1.3mil and led operations for one of the biggest collegiate festivals in the United States. Most importantly, I would see many of these student leaders grow from their roles, citing their event planning experiences and our student/advisor relationship as a core growth factor, and eventually start careers at some of the leading companies across live music, entertainment and hospitality. Guiding college students in discovering themselves, servicing others through events, and finding the confidence to pursue their career aspirations through college programming has been one of the most fulfilling privileges of my career.

However, creating this impact has never been easy, and it certainly isn’t getting easier. Over those ten years, I also realized the unique challenges advisors face: students engage differently, advisors are expected to do more with less, events are increasingly complex, and institutions can be slow to adapt to the very dynamic needs across student life, college programming and the student/advisor experience.

I started CLX to address those needs. My goal is to provide event expertise and advising so that student leaders are nurtured to grow in their roles, their advisors are supported in their very specific needs, and institutions are empowered to create meaningful experiences that foster student growth and a vibrant campus life.
